✅ Kolkata Police Constable Eligibility Criteria:
(1) Candidates must have passed the Madhyamik Examination (Matriculation or 10th class equivalent) from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
(2) Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the Bengali language. However, this provision will not be applicable to persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For applicants from hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961, shall apply.
(3) Female candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Lady Constable in Kolkata Police.
(4) Male and third gender/transgender candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Constable in Kolkata Police.

Eligible candidates will have to appear for an MCQ-based preliminary written test for Kolkata Police Constable 2024, which is qualifying in nature. The test will consist of 100 objective-type questions, each with multiple choices (four options) of answers, carrying 01 mark each. The duration of this test will be 01 hour.
